Connecting Kids with Cops through technology

The RCMP Foundation’s TechConnect program aims to strengthen communities by connecting RCMP Members with students through the use of technology.

By providing schools and community organizations in remote communities with access to technology, TechConnect assists them in communicating more efficiently and prepares them to safely interact in a digital world. RCMP Members provide support by delivering technology based educational tools and programs that provide creative learning opportunities for youth in the communities where they work.

TechConnect partners:

Kids, Cops & Computers

The RCMP Foundation Kids, Cops & Computers (KCC) program works in partnership the local RCMP detachments to uniquely leverage the power of technology for social good.

The program connects select youth with technology through the mentorship of a local RCMP Member. The RCMP Foundation provides laptop computers or notebooks and comprehensive programming including mentorship, training and guidance support.

With the support of program partners, KCC reinforces staying safe on the Internet, preventing cyber-bullying, and practicing good etiquette. The program encourages students to be active contributors to their schools and communities. The intent is to instill hope and confidence ensuring youth can reach their potential.
